Inuzuka Clan:
-There are no secrets within the Inuzuka clan. Their noses are too good for that. Your family will know who you’ve been sleeping with, where you spent your day, what you made for dinner, and any number of other things. It’s considered polite and respectful not to mention intimate personal details you learned with your nose. (Then again, this is the Inuzuka clan; tact and politeness aren't always strong suits.)

-Similarly, gossip in the village is frowned upon. Just because you know things about other members of the village doesn’t mean you should go sharing them with people who couldn’t learn those on their own. People should improve their own intelligence-gathering skills if they want to know the really good gossip.

-Attempting (and failing) to keep secrets from clan members is even more frowned upon. Lying to a clan member is a serious offense, and it nullifies the loose guidelines about bringing up personal information. If you’re going to conceal something, be sure to be successful or don’t even bother trying. Things'll get shoved in your face a lot more if you're secretive about them.

-Inuzuka frequently have nightmares and flashbacks tied to sense of smell. Many of them keep something strong-smelling shut in an airtight container in their room just to drown out nightmares when they wake up panicked. Eucalyptus works well, for instance, or mint. Of course, this means everyone in the house knows you had a nightmare, but they very considerately don’t usually mention this unless it happens too many nights in a row.

-The Inuzuka have casual (or sometimes much more intense and personal, especially with close friendships or teammates involved) disdain for any clans that don’t treat all their members as family. They are extremely close-knit, cousins treated as siblings, etc. They hate the idea of the Hyuuga branch family, for example. Family is family, and it should be loved, cared for, and protected at all costs. This includes every member of the clan. They bicker and generally drive each other nuts sometimes, but there is never any doubt that every single member of the Inuzuka clan will be on the side of one of their own when it counts.

-Inuzuka parents generally impose less rules on their children than many of the other (especially the more formal) clans. Their focus is on respect, loyalty, and trust rather than the fine points of etiquette or keeping out of trouble. This isn’t because their children are less prone to trouble. In fact, Inuzuka kids have a knack for finding it. It’s because the parents almost always know exactly what their child has gotten into, so it has less chance of escalating. ...They also just don’t care much about etiquette. Being a good person, caring for comrades and family, is prioritized over details like table manners. Those can come later.

-They’re typically much more straightforward about sex and relationships. Preteens get a talk on safe sex and healthy versus unhealthy relationships, with an invitation to discuss specifics when relevant if desired. They know most of their children won’t avoid premarital sex, and it would be an insult to everyone to pretend otherwise. The Inuzuka don’t believe in polite fictions. Polite silence, sure, but not fiction. There are no repercussions for anything other than unhealthy relationships, in which case the Inuzuka as a whole are liable to tear into the offending partner, be it an outsider or a member of their own clan. Treating people well is important to the Inuzuka, and physical or emotional abuse is completely intolerable. It goes against all their codes of loyalty, which extend to teammates or significant others as well as clanmates.

-Inuzuka clan members specifically train both to take advantage of and to ignore their strong sense of smell. They spar blindfolded, or spar in areas planted with strong-smelling plants. Even as young children, they’re given tracking “missions” within the clan compound.

-They play all kinds of variations on tag and scavenger hunts with children to hone basic shinobi skills, but hide and seek is a lost cause. The rare Inuzuka who can successfully hide from clanmates generally does very well in his or her career as a shinobi and is frequently used as an infiltrator rather than a tracker.

-Not all dogs the Inuzuka breed are cut out to work with shinobi for either chakra or intelligence reasons. Between those dogs and the children of a number of active duty shinobi or single parents in the clan, there has to be a system in place for childcare. Shifts are semi-required for any adults not on active duty who are receiving support from the clan. These shifts are entirely optional for anyone who is on active duty.

Hana:
-With regard to childcare, human or canine, within the clan, Hana volunteers whenever she has the time to spare. She really enjoys being around the puppies. They help her relax. She also knows that they'll be the clan she leads and protects when they're all older, so she feels to some degree especially responsible.

-Shinobi families play silly hand-clap style games with kids to teach them the hand movements necessary for hand seals. Hana played with Kiba and still regularly plays with little cousins.

-Hana bought a big bed as a genin; it was the first thing she saved for with mission pay. If there's no other human in her bed, she sleeps in a puppy pile with her dogs every night. I'm pretty sure that whoever she eventually marries has to be cool with sharing the bed with three big wolf-like dogs whenever they are not actively having sex. (The dogs get out of bed for that.)

-Hana likes physical contact, is an incredibly affectionate friend, and tends to treat human beings she's very close to sort of like she treats her dogs outside of battle. Hair-ruffling, hugs, leaning on them.

-Hana does want to be married someday, and she wants her partner to STAY. She wants a lasting marriage. She's not in a rush to get there, but her dad leaving sort of drove home the possibility of impermanence. It sounds funny to say that their mom scared off their father, and Hana loves Tsume, respects her more than anyone, but she's not entirely okay with the fact that her dad left. I tend to think of him as out of the picture when it comes to his kids' lives.

-Hana's cooking is edible solely by virtue of her nose. She's not good at it, but she can smell well enough to keep food from turning truly awful.

-Not headcanon: The laws for medics are as follows:
1. No medic ninja shall ever stop medical treatment until the lives of their party members have come to an end.
2. No medic ninja shall ever stand on the front lines.
3. No medic ninja shall ever die until they are the last of their platoon.
4. Only those medic ninja who have mastered the Strength of a Hundred Technique of the ninja art Creation Rebirth are permitted to discard the above-mentioned laws.

Headcanon: Hana doesn't always obey the three laws. The first one is easy. She'll never stop trying to heal her teammates while they're still living. Not fighting on the front lines and always being the last team member standing, however, are more problematic. I imagine she's probably been reprimanded at some point. She specializes in veterinary medicine, but she is a med-nin and can heal humans. She's expected to follow regulations. She's alive, so Hana has TECHNICALLY never broken the third law, but she's broken the second one, which risks breaking the third.
